My Porch Swing!

After moving off campus, I decided that I wanted to make a New Orleans staple piece of furniture for my house – a porch swing. I made it using wood-shop tools in my student makerspace, and I was able to built it in a single day. I drafted the design, made my shopping and cut lists, and then cut, sanded, assembled, and stained it! It’s a relatively simple piece of furniture, but I’ve gotten a lot of use out of it so far, and I hope to make a more complicated version in the future.
