Mamma Mia

The College Preparatory School

Head Carpenter, Lighting Technician, Spot Captain

In this production of Mamma Mia my senior year, I was the spot captain and co-head carpenter of a tech team of over 30 students. I built all 3 of the walls, created windows, and had a hand in every major part of the set. I hung lights and set up light trees as directed by the lighting designer, and I even crawled through a 12 inch gap under the stage to install lights. I used my previous knowledge of carpentry, learned how to use spackle, and learned more about light design. I also trained other students in the chopsaw and tablesaw, as well as how to operate basic tools. As the stage manager, I called more than 100 light, sound, and projection cues for each show. As the spot captain, I managed five spot operators, relaying over 50 spot cues during each show.
